Travelling With JP

A bit about me and where I've been!

6/3/2023

Travelling the world has always been something I’ve dreamt of, but it became very evident in 2018 when I discovered the Van Life and Travel Vlogging side of YouTube. Watching people of all ages and from all walks of life travel the world really made me realize that I could too.

Yes, there were a few things holding me back, like the fact that I had just finished school and was paying off student loans, while starting my career, but I didn’t let that stop me.

After watching enough travel vlogs, I decided that it was time for me to stop watching, and start doing. By the end of 2018, I’d decided to go on a 10 week solo adventure in Europe. Thankfully I work in an industry where I work on a contract basis, so I was able to plan my trip for when I had a break between contracts.

If there’s one thing I’m incredibly good at, it’s planning. Spreadsheets and lists hold a special place in my heart.

Just take a look at this map I put together before my trip. Aside from being fun to make, it also had the added bonus of being something I could share whenever someone I met asked me about my trip.

While on the trip, I took a lot of photos and wrote a lot of memories down. I hope to one day go back and turn them into blog posts, but for now, I’m planning on focusing on my current travels.

Since I got home from that trip, the thought that’s always in the back of my mind is … when will I get to travel again?

I’ve been lucky enough to go on a few trips since:

2020

  • 2 Weeks Solo in Cayo Coco, Cuba (All Inclusive)

2021

  • 1 Week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (All Inclusive)

  • Long Weekend in Mont Tremblant, Québec

2022

  • 1 Week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (All Inclusive)

  • Long Weekend in Montreal, Québec

  • Long Weekend in Banff, Alberta

  • 1 Week In Ottawa (For Work)

  • 2.5 Weeks Solo in Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, Ericeira)

  • Long Weekend in Mont Tremblant, Québec

2023

  • A Week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (All Inclusive)

  • A Week in Edmonton Alberta (For Work), and a few extra days to Explore!

Now as I write this, I’m on a train heading back to my home base in Toronto for 3 nights, after spending a month at my sisters, before I take off on my next adventure! 🇨🇦🇭🇺🇬🇧

Thanks for reading!
